Bumpdate Catch-up {37-40 weeks}

well, I’m not sure what happened to the time…but its March?! I didn’t just fall behind on bumpdates, but I fell REALLY behind! our baby girl is here! now that I feel about halfway normal {some days, jammies are acceptable for a 24 hour period} I’m hoping to not only catch up on bumpdates, but introduce our precious girl {if you follow me on Instagram you’ve already seen an overload of photos!} and continue this blogging adventure! now that nap time has started, here we go!

{catching up}

how far along:

  • 37 weeks
  • 38 weeks
  • 39 weeks
  • 40 weeks

size of baby:

  • winter melon {18.9-20.9 inches, 6.2-9.2 pounds}
  • pumpkin {18.9-20.9 inches, 6.2-9.2 pounds}
  • watermelon {18.9-20.9 inches, 6.2-9.2 pounds}
  • jackfruit {18.9-20.9 inches, 6.2-9.2 pounds}

gender: precious baby girl!

weight gain:

  • 154 {up 28 pounds}
  • 154 {still 28!}
  • 156 {up 30 pounds total}

maternity clothes: the last few weeks I definitely went for comfort all the time! I think I wore my Jessica Simpson maternity jeans a couple of days, but for the most part I lived in my leggings from the Gap or pajamas! 🙂

stretch marks: kept them away with my Mustela cream for my whole pregnancy! who knows if its really the lotion, but its definitely worth the expense either way!

rings: off {starting at 32 weeks}

nursery: has been done! just missing a canvas print or two on the wall above her crib!

movement: these last few weeks I could tell she was getting a little cramped in there. still feeling movements, but not quite as often or as much at one time.  she is definitely lower and I can feel her hitting my hips!

symptoms: pretty tired in these last couple weeks, but mostly just anxious/excited! it’s gotten more difficult to do easy tasks like get out of bed and tie my shoes…but its totally worth it! {who needs to wear tennis shoes anyway?!}

labor signs: feeling lots of braxton hicks! at 38 weeks I was about 2 cm. at my 39 week appointment I was 3 cm and 50% effaced!

sleep: sleeping good, minus the frequent bathroom breaks.  a few random days I had a difficult time getting back to sleep, but when I stopped working I started taking more naps which was really nice!

cravings: I cannot WAIT to have a turkey sandwich, sushi and a blue moon! {not together, though}

aversions: nothing specific.

what I miss: anything I could be missing is totally worth it for this little girl! we are so excited for her to be here!

best moment this week:

  • 37: had a fun time going out to LA to dinner and to see Eric Church at the Staples Center!IMG_1385  iphone 03.01.15 1055
  • 38: we took a CPR and First Aid class with the grandparents to be and auntie to be! learned a lot and are ready for our little one!

  • 39: we made it past Todd’s birthday weekend! as special as it would have been for baby girl and her daddy to share their special days, as someone who shares her day with her mom and aunt, I was glad we passed it without her debut…I got a lot of errands, pampering and relaxing done this week! and we got to see our girl at a radiology appointment to check on her growth.  at my appointment my tummy was measuring a bit smaller so the doctor just wanted to be sure she was on track. she was! just had lowered in my belly so it threw off the measurement!
  • 40: lots of free time this week…just soaking up these last few days with the hubby {even though I’m pretty impatient now} we had a date night at the Ventura Harbor on her due date weekend! Andria’s restaurant has been a significant place for us since 2007 when we “officially” became boyfriend and girlfriend and we have loved going there ever since!

looking forward to: meeting our baby girl!!!

Bumpdate {36 weeks}

January 21, 2015

how far along: 36 weeks, 4 days

size of baby: a honeydew {17.2-18.7 inches, 4.2-5.8 pounds}

gender: baby girl!

weight gain: up 29 pounds! so much for doing so well the last few weeks…definitely caught up with me!

maternity clothes: all the time! I want to live in leggings or jammies!

stretch marks: keeping them away with my Mustela cream!

rings: off {starting at 32 weeks}

nursery: just missing a baby!

movement: always moving around! I’m definitely feeling more in my hips and lower areas…and smaller parts, like feet and elbows I think!

symptoms: feeling pretty lucky that I still feel good! I get the occasional discomfort in my back and feet if I’m standing for long periods, but just a general fatigue I think! I definitely feel better with a little nap or rest on the couch! I also feel pretty tight in my abdomen area after I’ve been laying down a while.  things are stretching and cramping I think…

labor signs: feeling some irregular little contractions every once in a while, but that’s it!

sleep: sleeping well still! {poor hubby says I must be sleeping really well because I’ve developed a slight snoring habit…hope this goes away when the baby weight does!}

cravings: toppers pizza, doughnuts, & cereal…totally healthy, right?!

aversions: nothing specific.

what I miss: the ability to get up and down easily!

best moment this week: nothing specific this week, but every day is exciting because we are getting that much closer! {I wouldn’t call it the best moment, but we had our labor and delivery class last night at Kaiser! we’re definitely on information overload…I’m not sure if I needed to know all of that stuff!}

looking forward to: decorating onesies and other baby crafts this afternoon with a couple of friends, one with an adorable baby girl and the other with a little boy on the way! also a fun night out with the hubby and my sister and her boyfriend this Friday to go see Eric Church! may be our last hoo rah for a while!

size of baby: a coconut {17.2-18.7 inches, 4.2-5.8 pounds}

gender: it’s a little miss for us!

weight gain: up 26.5 pounds {did pretty good these last couple weeks!}

maternity clothes: heck yes! I want to live in workout gear, without working out!

stretch marks: keeping them away with my Mustela cream!

rings: off {starting at 32 weeks}

nursery: looking adorable! I think its my favorite room in the house!

movement: cannot stop this little one…she is definitely a mover!

symptoms: feeling pretty good…just general discomfort that comes with gaining 26 pounds of basketball in my midsection! lots and lots of potty breaks too!

labor signs: we are getting close so I figured I’d add this! just some braxton hicks contractions…

sleep: loving sleep! getting up a lot more for the bathroom, but no problems falling asleep for the most part.  every few nights I’ll have a little restlessness, but not bad!

cravings: unfortunately, mostly junk.

aversions: nothing specific.

what I miss: I don’t think I could miss anything more than how excited I am that her arrival is coming closer!

best moment this week: we had a maternity session with Alexandra Kayy Photography {last one, I swear} this week and I was SO excited to see how the pictures turned out! I LOVE them…look out for a full post tomorrow!

we also had an appointment with our doctor and saw the little one! she is head down and face down, getting ready! we also had a labor and delivery tour and I haven’t decided if it’s made me more nervous or prepared. either way…it means we are so close! {gotta finish packing that hospital bag!}

looking forward to: a slow paced week with no plans for the weekend!

Maternity Photos {by Kim Harvey Photography at 31 weeks}

one thing that I haven’t skipped out on this pregnancy is photographing it! with so much inspiration from fellow bloggers and that darn Pinterest {I mean, I have a whole board for maternity photos!}, I’ve had many visions in my head of photos I wanted to take and have taken! I figure we’re only going to have our first baby once and that is a big reason to document this pregnancy and have the memories of this special time to cherish for years to come!

when a past co-worker and friend of mine approached me after starting her photography business, I knew we had to set up a session! it was so fun to try different poses, walk barefoot in the sticks and just have a great time with someone so easy to be silly and relaxed around {even relaxed enough to do a mini boudoir session in the middle of a field…but we’ll keep those photos for another time – maybe?}! Kim did an amazing job of capturing me and my belly in the light and airy photos I was dreaming of!

enjoy the beautiful photos she took and head over to her facebook page to see the wonderful family, newborn & portrait sessions she has posted!

my dress – forever 21 {borrowed from a friend, but found it online}

my sweater – victoria’s secret {cannot find online…}

Bumpdate {31 weeks}

December 18, 2014

how far along: 31 weeks, 4 days

IMG_3261-3    IMG_3271

{bumpdate photos this week were taken by the wonderful Kim of Kim Harvey Photography! there are so many to love that they will get their own post! stay tuned!}

size of baby: a pineapple {15.2-16.7 inches, 2.5-3.8 pounds}

gender: a sweet baby girl!

weight gain: up 27.5 pounds! {lets hope we keep it slow and steady from here on}

maternity clothes: for sure! still rocking my regular pj’s and comfy clothes at home…but we all know how that works out!

stretch marks: keeping them away with my Mustela cream!

rings: on…but I’m thinking I should remove them for a bit, just so they don’t get uncomfortable!

nursery: is really coming along!! our rocker came last week {thanks mom & dad!} and I’m trying to finish washing the bedding! we got some adorable wall art from Hobby Lobby last weekend and I cannot wait to get it all hung and share some pictures!

movement: still crazy in there! she moves ALL. THE. TIME…and I love it!

symptoms: mild back pain, fatigue {duh, +27.5 pounds}, and major nesting! is that a symptom? I’m not sure…but at least its a productive one!

sleep: cannot get enough! but so happy that I’m sleeping well!

cravings: sweets {as always}, soft pretzels and sushi! really, I think I just want miso soup and anything I can put soy sauce on!

aversions: nothing in particular…

what I miss: being able to walk through Ikea without feeling like I ran a marathon!

best moment this week: we were busy bees last week! decorated {minimally} for Christmas, checked off many lines on the baby to-do list, had a 3-d ultrasound & I had photos taken!!

the hubby was a trooper this weekend and we had “a really big day” on Saturday {side note-I’ve never seen this movie – can you name it? –  but Todd and a friend of  mine keep referencing it, so naturally it’s all I think about when writing about a Saturday morning filled with errands}.  we ordered the stroller {which has arrived and is AMAZING!}, picked out a side table from Ikea {but still have to go back to find it because it was sold out}, found some super cute decor at Hobby Lobby AND explored Buy Buy Baby for the first time!! thank goodness Hobby Lobby and Buy Buy Baby aren’t just right around the corner from our house! it was my first time at both stores and I can officially say I’m addicted!!

on Monday we spent the morning and evening at Kaiser for an appointment and Baby Care Basics! so much information! let’s hope we remember how to swaddle and bathe her 2 months from now 😉

Baby Care Basics    Bumpdate {31 weeks}

oh, and it was also my birthday! I had a wonderful time celebrating with my family! apparently baby progress is way more exciting!!

looking forward to: a relaxing weekend! we have a housewarming party to attend on the calendar, but hopefully the rest of the weekend will be spent enjoying our cozy living room {see our beautiful shorty tree on my Instagram from this morning} and washing baby stuff!
